Jun 3 Trio of Raiders Earn National Honors
Three Northwestern seniors earned national recognition for their efforts in the 2009-2010 season. Shortstop/pitcher Brad Payne was named a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention today while fellow classmates Curt Bomgaars and Matt Gray were named Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes.


May 21 Raiders Season Comes to An End With 9-4 Loss
Northwestern lost to sixth-ranked Oklahoma City 9-4 in the first championship game in group five tournament play at the 2010 NAIA baseball championship opening round.  With the win, the host Stars win the opening round tournament and will advance to the 10-team Avista-NAIA World Series


May 20 Raiders Defeat Jamestown; Advance to Championship Game
Taylor Morris pitched eight strong innings in leading Northwestern to a 5-2 win over third-seeded Jamestown (N.D.) in an elimination game at the 2010 NAIA baseball national championship opening round group five tournament.


May 19 Raiders Advance With 10-9 Come-From-Behind Win
Stephen Englund hit a go-ahead, three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh and Taylor Morris and Eddie Pantzlaff combined  to pitch three hitless innings as Northwestern defeated 18th-ranked Union (Tenn.) 10-9 in an elimination game at the 2010 NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round Group Five Tournament.

The Northwestern College baseball team will take on Union University (Tenn.) tonight in an elimination game at the 2010 NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round Group Five Tournament.


May 18 Raiders Fall to Sixth-Ranked Oklahoma City
Northwestern lost to sixth-ranked and top-seeded Oklahoma City University 17-3 in a winner's bracket game at the 2010 NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round Group Five tournament.

May 16 Zoellner Pitches Raiders to 7-2 Win over Grand View
The Northwestern College baseball team opened play at the 2010 NAIA Championship Opening Round with an impressive 7-2 win over Grand View this afternoon in Oklahoma City.

The Northwestern College baseball team is headed to Oklahoma City where they will play in the 2010 NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round beginning Tuesday, May 18.


May 13 Six Raiders Earn All-GPAC Honors, Payne and Englund Named 1st Teamers
Senior shortstop Brad Payne and sophomore center-fielder Steve Englund were both named to the All-GPAC 1st Team for the 2010 season. Junior catcher Clint Gingerich and sophomore pitcher Mike Zoellner earned second team honors while senior 3B Curt Bomgaars and sophomore relief pitcher Eddie Pantzlaff were honorable mentions. Northwestern won the GPAC Tournament last weekend and is 34-18 overall.


May 10 School Records Falling as Raiders Turn Eyes to National Tournament
Northwestern's baseball team is already the highest scoring team in school history, totaling 381 run so far in 2010, with more games to be played. The old record of 349 was set in 2007 in three more games played. Northwestern also set a team school record for RBI in a season with 331, breaking 2007's old record of 317. At bats, triples, and hits are also within reach for this year's team.


May 9 Northwestern Wins the GPAC Baseball Championship
Northwestern held off a late rally to defeat Hastings College 7-6 for the 2010 GPAC Championship.


May 8 Morris Walk-Off Single Put Raiders in Title Game
Taylor Morris hit a walk-off single to straight-away centerfield, scoring Curt Bomgaars, to give Northwestern a thrilling 14-13 win over Dakota Wesleyan in the 2010 GPAC baseball tournament played in Mitchell, S.D.


May 7 Raiders Cruise to 13-1 Win Over Morningside
Brad Payne pitched a complete game three-hitter and Northwestern belted out 17 hits in its 13-1 seven-inning win over Morningside in a winner's bracket game Friday morning at the 2010 GPAC baseball championship.


May 6 Kirkeby Leads Northwestern Past Hastings, 5-1
Jared Kirkeby pitched the Raiders to a 5-1 victory over #7 Hastings in a winner's bracket game at the 2010 GPAC baseball tournament played in Mitchell, S.D.


May 5 Shields' Walk-Off Home Run Give NWC a 4-3 Win
Michael Shields hit a walk-off solo home run to give Northwestern a dramatic 4-3 win over #3 Dakota Wesleyan in the first round of the 2010 GPAC baseball tournament played in Mitchell, S.D.


May 3 Northwestern Takes on DWU in GPAC Tournament
Northwestern's baseball team will take on Dakota Wesleyan in the first round of the GPAC tournament tomorrow at noon, in Mitchell, S.D. The Red Raiders earned the six seed, in the eight team tournament, and will face the third seeded hosts. Dakota Wesleyan won both of the earlier matchups between the two teams.


May 2 Brad Payne Named GPAC Player of the Week
Northwestern shortstop Brad Payne is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Payne, a senior from Alta, Iowa, hit .611 on the week as the Red Raiders closed the season with a 5-1 record and secured the six seed in the GPAC Tournament.


May 1 Northwestern Sweeps Dordt, Earns Six Seed in GPAC Tourney
Northwestern swept Dordt College by the scores of 9-3 and 11-1 (5) on Saturday night and secured the six seed in the GPAC tournament later this week in Mitchell, S.D. Northwestern had 26 hits and scored 20 runs for the day, and allowed only seven total hits to the Defenders. The Raiders improved their overall record to 29-18 and are 12-11 in the GPAC.
