The NAIA Region III baseball tournament up in Mayville, N.D. has been delayed due to rain. Northwestern (2-1), seeded second in the six-team field, is scheduled to play Jamestown (3-0), the fifth seed, at 2:15 pm instead of the original 1 pm start, weather permitting. If NWC would win the game, the two teams would then play again in the championship game with a super regional berth at stake.
If any of the games cannot be played, then the following scenarios will take over: (NAIA rules state that the regional tournament must be completed by 12:00 am Sunday morning)
-if the games cannot be played, Jamestown is the champion by virtue of their undefeated, 3-0 record
-if only one game is played and NWC wins, the Red Raiders are the champion by virtue of their 3-1 record (same as Jamestown) but Northwestern is the higher seed.
-if only one game is played and Jamestown wins, they are the champion
