Mihai Burlea Named GPAC Pitcher of the Week

Mihai Burlea, a senior from Botosani, Romania, has been named the Hauff Mid-America/GPAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 23-March 30. During the week, Burlea went 1-0 with a 1.29 era, throwing a complete game versus Doane in Northwestern's 4-2 game one victory.  Burlea gave up nine hits, walked two, and struck out seven Tigers while picking up his fourth victory of the season.  Burlea is now 4-2 on the season and is 16-3 in his career.  His 16 wins are tied for 11th all time at Northwestern.  Burlea is currently 12th on Northwestern's career strikeout list with 151.
